Quotes

During my pre-teen years, I discovered quotes.

When I couldn't find the words within myself, or a way to express them, reading the words that others had written brought me solace and a sense of belonging. I loved to write my favorite quotes in pencil on notebook paper, then tape them to my bedroom walls. I carried this love of quotes with me throughout my teenage years, and into my adult life. Still to this day, I read quotes endlessly when I can't find the words.

One quote in particular that inspired me to start my blog, share my story, and find strength in my own words,

comes from one of my idols, Glennon Doyle:

"I have stopped asking people for directions to places they've never been."

The specific things I'm trying to find quotes on and not feel so alone in, aren't widely spoken about openly.

Deciding to write about them reminded me of another favorite quote that my mom shared with me during my teenage years:

"A light set upon a hill cannot help, but shine light onto others."

Quotes and written word are my guiding light; my greatest wish is to be that guiding light for another, even if just for a short while. After all, guiding lights allow us to see the crumbs along the path.

With that, I will add quotes below as I find time to sift through the many places I have them saved :)

"The best way to predict the future is to create it"

Abraham Lincoln
